When you’re updating your flooring, particularly to vinyl or laminate, it’s important to make sure your subfloor is properly prepped. If you have an uneven or damaged subfloor, you could end up with a poor-quality finish if it isn’t fixed before your new flooring is laid. For ground floor rooms, this usually means a screed or patch screed is needed, and for upstairs rooms, hard-boarding may be required.
